Celebrating its centennial anniversary in 2018, Chung-Ang University prides itself on decades of tradition and outstanding education. Together, Chung-Ang University and the College of Music have produced numerous musicians in a wide variety of musical fields such as composition, vocal, piano and orchestral music. Aiming to contribute to research, education and society in the spirit of "Righteousness and Truth" (the educational motto of Chung-Ang University), we are training students to achieve outstanding scholarly accomplishments. The academic culture of a university is thought to be born of the harmony of scientific study and the arts. Considering that intellect and emotions are found together in the cultural marketplace of the university, music is the best medium for creating this academic culture through the fusion of intellect and emotion. |

The Voice Department aims to nurture vocal musicians who can contribute to the field of vocal music both in Korea and abroad through the in-depth study of vocal music and through developing performance proficiency. Based on a firm belief that the human body itself is the best instrument, the department attaches great importance to the uniqueness of each individual and helps each student develop her/his own unique vocalization and singing method. In addition, the students are provided with numerous occasions for stage experiences such as operas.

For the first time among the universities in Korea, Chung-Ang University's College of Music Piano Department has refined its study into three major fields: Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy, and Piano Accompanying. Through this more specialized curriculum, we aim to produce a large number of talented musicians who will play a leading role in each of these fields. The department attracts gifted students and inspires them to fulfill their unlimited potentials through the various scholarship programs - while at the same time guaranteeing a perfect environment for study with sufficient practice rooms and high-quality instruments.

With an over-300 square-meter orchestral hall, rooms for chamber music ensembles and lesson rooms the Orchestral Music Department focuses more on technical capabilities (rooted in a deep understanding and knowledge of musical works and theories) rather than on the acquisition of a disjointed knowledge of music. At the same time, we help students acquire aesthetic senses and understand the philosophies necessary for musicians through effective and active performance practices. The performing practices consist of weekly performance classes, annual orchestral concerts, brass and band concerts, country/provincial concert tours, and concerts abroad.
